Breakfast today was Blueberry Lemon Pancakes from plantyou, p. 48. These were OK, but a bit bitter, kind of the way wheat flour tastes when it isn't very good wheat flour. The odd thing about that was that we were using really good wheat flour that doesn't normally taste that way. I think the bitterness was caused by something else in the recipe. They weren't terrible and were sort of enjoyable, but nothing like real pancakes with blueberries. I could eat these, but considering how much better real blueberry pancakes taste, there is a wide gap. Rating: 3 out of 5. Possibly, with some work, we could make these a 4 out of 5, but I'm not sure what we could do to improve them. They didn't seem that healthy to me (with the syrup and all). I kind of feel like, if I'm going to have something that isn't all that healthy, I'd rather that it be really good and go for regular pancakes instead.
