Tonight for dinner we had Herbed Filet Mignon with Red Wine Mushrooms from Eating Stella Style p. 141 & Green Bean Casserole p. 188 from the same book. I wasn't looking forward to the green bean casserole. I usually hate it. And I love a good filet. This one was pretty good. Surprisingly though, the green bean casserole was the best part. It was amazing! It had these carmelized onions that had been coated in parmesan cheese and garlic so that they were crunchy and the sauce was browned mushrooms and sour cream. Delish! I would give both a hearty 5 out of 5. They went really well together, but I'll have dreams about that green bean casserole. It just had these complex flavors mixed with a great textured crunch.
