Tonight for dinner we had Pomegranate-Braised Beef Short Ribs with Prunes and Sesame from the Mediterranean Cookbook (pictured above) and Braised Asparagus, Peas, and Radishes with Tarragon from the same cookbook (pictured below).

The short ribs were very good and had a unique flavor.  My wife loved them and she's not a meat fan usually.  She liked the sauce better than the ribs LOL.  They take a long time to make, probably 3 - 4 hours, so don't try to make this after getting home from work unless you like to eat late.  It's more of a weekend dish.  Very sweet but tangy at the same time.  They had a very ethnic food taste to them that I really liked.  Not like something you'd get in a restaurant around here.  Rating:  5 out of 5.

The Braised veggies were also very good.  They also had a complexity of flavor.  They tasted almost buttery, but had no butter in them.  Lemon, orange, tarragon, garlic and a few other spices.  They really made the veggies taste unique too.  Again, we both really liked them.  Much easier to make.  Rating:  5 out of 5.
