Today's breakfast was French Apple Pie Bread from the China Study cookbook. This was pretty good. A little heavy, but had good flavor. I would add more nuts next time (we doubled the nuts this time but it still wasn't enough) and possibly try a bit more baking powder to make it a little lighter. More apples would be good too. I'd recommend serving this with some fruit. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to make and bake. Rating: 4 out of 5. It could be a 5 out of 5 with a little work.
Dinner tonight was Pecan Ball Salad with Asian Ginger Dressing from the China Study cookbook. It wasn't bad, but a little bland. Megan said that next time, she'd make the dressing ahead and the pecan balls of time and chill it in the fridge for several hours. She would also double the amount of the dressing.
While this was OK, I think it could be made better. It needs more flavor. Overall I would rate this a 3 out of 5. With work, it might become a 4 out of 5.
